Jesus Christ is aware of everything He will go through because of His sacrifice for the salvation of humanity. He knows that the world will make Him suffer, reject Him, and kill Him, but it will not prevent His victory, which will come on the "Third Day". Knowing well the end for each prophet, He does not shy away from what the world is preparing for Him through the use of the ingredients of hatred, lies, illusion, despair, and the disordered passion for power. On the other hand, Jesus does not allow Himself to be seduced by anything that prevents Him from doing exclusively the will of the Father, from being obedient until death, from saying YES at every moment of His life, and from not abandoning His love for the salvation of those who wish to destroy Him.

2. What they do with Christ, they will also do with His followers. That is why Jesus says: "If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." There are three important verbs here: to renounce (oneself), to take up (the cross each day) and to follow (Jesus). All three refer to the very reality of Jesus in history: He did not cling to His divine condition and became flesh to save; in history, He did not fear suffering, being rejected, He was faithful until death, carried out as a total surrender of Himself; everything was done in following the will of the Father for the salvific good of all. This model of conscious acceptance of the mission as a surrender of oneself, abandoning one's own will, not fearing rejection by the world, even going through death, will certainly be part of the life of those who truly want to be His disciple. It is important to never forget that behind every disciple there is a cross and in front of him the reality of victory. The body will not have a different fate than that experienced by the head.

3. He who suffered everything won the victory on the "Third Day". Christ is Risen! Well, this victory is linked to the meaning of Jesus' teaching: "Whoever loses his life for my sake will save it", that is, he will share in His eternal life, he will be resurrected, he will be glorified, death will not be his end. Those who place themselves at the service of the Kingdom of God, abandoning themselves to Christ, will suffer, it is true, but they will conquer true life, full life, the life of God. The opposite is also true: those who embrace the world, following its dictates, will destroy themselves forever. To be a true disciple, one should not accumulate riches, nor should one be terrified by the testimony to be given of the Master's death and resurrection, because it is in one's flesh and in the decision of one's existence that there will be communion with Christ, who, in Luke, is identified with the Son of Man of Dn 7,13.

Jesus Cristo é consciente de tudo o que passará por causa de Sua entrega para a salvação da humanidade. Ele sabe que o mundo vai fazê-lo sofrer, rejeitá-lo, matá-lo, mas não impedirá Sua vitória, que virá no "Terceiro Dia". Conhecendo bem o fim para cada profeta, Ele não se esquiva daquilo que o mundo está lhe preparando mediante a utilização dos ingredientes do ódio, da mentira, da ilusão, do desespero e da paixão desordenada pelo poder. Por outro lado, Jesus não se deixa seduzir por nada que O impeça de fazer exclusivamente a vontade do Pai, de ser obediente até a morte, de ser SIM em todos os instantes de Sua vida e de não abandonar Seu amor pela salvação daqueles que desejam destruí-Lo.

2. Aquilo que fazem com Cristo, vão fazer também com Seus seguidores. Por isso Jesus afirma: "Se alguém me quer seguir, renuncie a si mesmo, tome sua cruz cada dia, e siga-me". Há três verbos importantes aqui: renunciar (a si mesmo), tomar (a cruz cada dia) e seguir (Jesus). Os três dizem respeito à realidade mesma de Jesus na história: Ele não se apegou a sua condição divina e se fez carne para salvar; na história, não temeu o sofrimento, sendo rejeitado, foi fiel até a morte, realizada como entrega total de Si mesmo; tudo sendo feito no seguimento à vontade do Pai para o bem salvífico de todos. Esse modelo de aceitação consciente da missão como entrega de si mesmo, abandonando a própria vontade, não temendo a rejeição do mundo, passando inclusive pela morte, certamente fará parte da vida de quem realmente quiser ser Seu discípulo ou discípula. É importante nunca esquecer que por trás de cada discípulo existe uma cruz e na sua frente a realidade da vitória. O corpo não terá uma sorte diferente daquela vivida pela cabeça.

3. Aquele que tudo sofreu conquistou a vitória no "Terceiro Dia". Cristo Ressuscitou! Pois bem, a essa vitória, liga-se o sentido do ensinamento de Jesus: "quem perder a sua vida por causa de mim, esse a salvará", isto é, participará de Sua vida eterna, ressuscitará, será glorificado, a morte não será o seu fim. Aquele e aquela que se colocarem a serviço do Reino de Deus, abandonando-se em Cristo, sofrerão, é bem verdade, mas conquistarão a verdadeira vida, a vida plena, a vida de Deus. Já o contrário também é verdadeiro: quem abraçar o mundo, seguindo seus ditames, destruirá para sempre a si mesmo. Para alguém ser verdadeiro discípulo não deve acumular riquezas, nem deve se apavorar com o testemunho a ser feito da morte e ressurreição do Mestre, pois é na sua carne e na decisão de sua existência que haverá comunhão com Cristo, que, em Lc se identifica com o Filho do Homem de Dn 7,13.
