At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Which of you would give his son a stone when he asks for bread? 10 Or give him a snake when he asks for a fish? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him! 12 Do to others whatever you want them to do to you. This is the Law and the Prophets."

Reflection

Jesus shows how much the Lord is focused on the salvific good of His children. Behind His words, we find a passionate God, who does not want the death of the sinner, but that he live and be converted. With a love greater than that of a mother, God cares for those who come close to Him. Certainly, the Lord knows the needs of all, but He awaits the humble gesture of those in need, so that they, recognizing their limitations, recognize that only in God is the fulfillment of man found. Insistence in petition does not mean deafness to God, but human effort, the loving and trusting struggle of man who must also be turned to God with his mind and heart.

God will not give anything that leads His children to evil. He is goodness, the Supreme Good; His nature is LOVE. Therefore, only love is what He has to give, that is, everything that alone saves, fulfills and elevates man. By nature, God acts as Truth, Love and Life, granting to those who ask Him for something, everything that is related to love, truth and life. God's love can be glimpsed in those who love, in the relationships between parents and children, when, even though they are "bad", such parents know how to do good to their children. In truth, all of God's creation reveals the love of its Creator, even though it is limited in its creaturely being.

Man needs goodness, he was created by the Supreme Good, he exists in Him and lives for Him. In each one of us there are marks of the Eternal. Man, no matter how far he is from God, feels a "longing" for His love. In moments of need, this man feels the desire to be loved, valued, respected; he thirsts for God. Well, what he desires he must strive to do for others, because others also have the same needs. In fact, we are all in need of what God is: Love, Truth and Life. May each one of us do for others everything that he needs before his Lord. In this way, only goodness will be the horizon of all humanity. In this case, each disciple is responsible for this awareness of God's goodness, so that it may be spread throughout the world.

Batei e a porta vos será aberta! 8 Pois todo aquele que pede, recebe; quem procura, encontra; e a quem bate, a porta será aberta. 9 Quem de vós dá ao filho uma pedra, quando ele pede um pão? 10 Ou lhe dá uma cobra, quando ele pede um peixe? 11 Ora, se vós, que sois maus, sabeis dar coisas boas a vossos filhos, quanto mais vosso Pai que está nos céus dará coisas boas aos que lhe pedirem! 12 Tudo quanto quereis que os outros vos façam, fazei também a eles. Nisto consiste a Lei e os Profetas".

Reflexão

Jesus mostra o quanto o Senhor está voltado para o bem salvífico dos Seus filhos. Por trás de suas palavras, encontra-se um Deus apaixonado, que não quer a morte do pecador, mas que este viva e se converta. Com um amor maior do que o materno, Deus cuida dos que DELE se aproximam. Certamente, o Senhor sabe das necessidades de todos, mas espera o gesto humilde de quem precisa, a fim de que eles, reconhecendo-se limitados, reconheçam que somente em Deus se encontra a plenitude do homem. A insistência na petição não significa surdez em Deus, mas o esforço humano, a luta amorosa e confiante do homem que também deve ser voltado para Deus com a mente e o coração.

 

Deus não dará nada que conduza Seus filhos ao mal. Ele é a bondade, o Bem Supremo; Sua natureza é o AMOR. Portanto, só amor é o que tem para dar, isto é, tudo aquilo que somente salva, plenifica e eleva o homem. Por natureza, Deus age como Verdade, Amor e Vida, concedendo ao que lhe suplica alguma coisa, tudo o que se relaciona ao amor, à verdade e à vida. O ser amor de Deus pode ser vislumbrado em quem ama, nas relações de pais e filhos, quando, até mesmo sendo "maus", tais pais sabem fazer o bem aos seus filhos. Na verdade, toda a criação de Deus revela o amor do seu Criador, mesmo sendo limitada em seu ser criatural.

 

O homem tem necessidade do bem, foi feito pelo Bem Supremo, existe NELE e vive para Ele. Em cada um existe as marcas do Eterno. O homem, por mais distante que se encontre de Deus, sente "saudade" do Seu amor. Nos momentos de carências, esse homem sente vontade de ser amado, valorizado, respeitado; ele tem sede de Deus. Pois bem, o que ele deseja deve lutar para fazer aos demais, pois o outro tem também as mesmas necessidades. De fato, todos somos necessitados do que Deus é: Amor, Verdade e Vida. Que cada um possa fazer ao outro tudo aquilo de que necessita diante do seu Senhor. Dessa forma, somente o bem será o horizonte de toda a humanidade. Nesse caso, cada discípulo é responsável por essa consciência da bondade de Deus, a fim de que ela seja espalhada por todo o mundo.
