After the obvious reaction of the Jews to Jesus Christ’s action of healing the paralytic on the Sabbath, another difficulty for the leaders arose in Jesus himself, who called God Father, which means making himself equal to God. These leaders understood the depth of what Jesus was saying. In truth, this was yet another way of manifesting the very reality of Jesus, certainly not approved by the Jews. Jesus is not afraid to say that he is the Son of God, that he came from Him, that he accomplishes His work, that he does His will. Furthermore, Jesus adds: “My Father is always working, therefore I am working too.” And by saying this, he shows that those authorities have lost or never understood the true meaning of the Sabbath or of people’s liberation. According to Genesis 2:2-3, is God limited to rest? Does He need rest? Does God also get tired? What does the prophet Isaiah say: “Have you not known? Have you not learned? The Lord is an everlasting God. He created the ends of the earth, and never grows weary or annoyed; no one can fathom his wisdom.” Jesus, in turn, states that the Father never stops working, that is, there is no day of rest for God, since this would mean a god characterized by weakness. In fact, the statement that “God rested on the 7th day” refers to the completion of the work of creation and not to tiredness in God Himself, which would be a contradiction in relation to divine perfection. The fact is that God never tires of freeing man and saving him; He is always ready to forgive and transform the person who approaches Him. This work, therefore, does not stop, because in Jesus Christ, God continues to give Himself, to heal, to teach and to save.

2. Jesus is the Beloved of the Father and, in the world, He places Himself at the disposal of His will to save what was lost. He is in the world to do what the Father wants and out of love for the Father and for humanity. Out of obedience, He surrenders Himself totally to the will of the Father for the good of all, making Himself a gift, or rather, giving Himself absolutely, dying, so that all may have life. The love in Jesus is called oblativity, the giving of oneself for the good of others. Through Him, the same love of the Father is revealed. Through Him, the world knows the goodness of God; it has the possibility of glimpsing divine Justice and the Truth of God Himself.

3. Blind to the messianic reality of Jesus, the religious leaders were unable to perceive the absolute connection between Jesus and the God of Israel, they did not perceive the condition of eternal life only possible through Jesus, the beloved Son, they did not learn the lesson of obedience, based on total love, and they despised the Truth of the Father, which is unique and constitutes a single Word of Salvation, which, by the will of God, will judge the world.

4. Blindness closed their hearts and their understanding of the truth of God. Immersed only in their own interpretations, they excommunicated the GIFT of God and embraced death. Understanding nothing about the Son of God, they decided to kill Him. To this day, because they do not understand anything about Jesus, many people try to eliminate the Savior's disciples, those with whom Jesus himself identifies, the little ones of the Most High, who make their lives, through the action of the Holy Spirit, a gift from God for all, aware of their divine filiation. Everywhere, from East to West, there are those who cannot stand the NAME of Jesus, there are those who do not feel comfortable with the TRUTH of the Father. That is why they plan and even execute the elimination of the Christian faith. On the other hand, there is a great difference in those who become disciples: they are possessors of the LOGIC THAT CHALLENGES THE WORLD, the logic of becoming a gift, a service, a path of liberation and salvation for others. The disciple is aware of the TRUTH of the Father and, because of it, once he has become a son, he is not afraid to also call God Father.

Depois da evidente reação dos judeus à ação de Jesus Cristo de curar o paralítico num dia de sábado, uma outra dificuldade para os líderes se apresenta no mesmo Jesus, que chama a Deus de Pai, o que significa fazer-se igual a Deus. Tais líderes entenderam a profundidade do que Jesus estava dizendo. Na verdade, estava ali mais uma forma de manifestação da realidade mesma de Jesus, certamente não aprovada pelos judeus. Jesus não teme dizer que é o Filho de Deus, que veio Dele, que cumpre Sua obra, que faz Sua vontade. Além do mais, acrescenta Jesus: “Meu Pai trabalha sempre, portanto também eu trabalho”. E, dizendo isso, mostra que aquelas autoridades perderam ou nunca souberam o verdadeiro sentido do sábado nem da libertação das pessoas. Conforme Gn 2,2-3, estaria Deus limitado ao descanso? Teria Ele necessidade de repouso? Deus também se cansa? O que diz o profeta Isaías: “Não o sabes? Não o aprendeste? O Senhor é um Deus eterno. Ele cria os confins da terra, sem jamais fatigar-se nem se aborrecer; ninguém pode sondar sua sabedoria”. Jesus, por sua vez, afirma que o Pai não para de trabalhar, isto é, não existe dia de repouso para Deus, pois significaria um deus caracterizado pela fraqueza. Na verdade, a afirmação de que “Deus descansou no 7º dia” diz respeito à conclusão da obra criatural e não de cansaço em Deus mesmo, o que seria uma contradição com relação à perfeição divina. O fato é que Deus não se cansa de libertar o homem e salvá-lo; está sempre pronto para o perdão e a transformação da pessoa que Dele se aproxima. Essa obra, portanto, não para, pois em Jesus Cristo, Deus continua doando-se, curando, ensinando e salvando.

2. Jesus é o Amado do Pai e, no mundo, coloca-se à disposição de Sua vontade para salvar o que estava perdido. Ele está no mundo para fazer o que o Pai deseja e por amor ao Pai e à humanidade. Por obediência, entrega-se totalmente à vontade do Pai para o bem de todos, fazendo-se um dom, ou melhor, entregando-se absolutamente, morrendo, a fim de que todos tenham a vida. O amor em Jesus se chama oblatividade, entrega de Si para o bem do outro. Através Dele se revela o mesmo amor do Pai. Através de Si, o mundo conhece a bondade de Deus; tem a possibilidade de vislumbrar a Justiça divina e a Verdade do próprio Deus.

3. Cegos para a realidade messiânica de Jesus, os líderes religiosos não foram capazes de perceber a absoluta ligação entre Jesus e o Deus de Israel, não perceberam a condição de vida eterna somente possível por meio de Jesus, o Filho amado, não aprenderem a lição da obediência, fundamentada no amor total, e desprezaram a Verdade do Pai, que é única e constitui uma só Palavra de Salvação, que, por vontade de Deus, julgará o mundo.

4. A cegueira fechou-lhes o coração e a compreensão da verdade de Deus. Mergulhados somente nas próprias interpretações, excomungaram o DOM de Deus e abraçaram a morte. Não entendendo nada sobre o Filho de Deus, decidiram matá-Lo. Até hoje, por não entenderem nada sobre Jesus, é que muitos tentam eliminar os discípulos do Salvador, aqueles com os quais o próprio Jesus se identifica, os pequeninos do Altíssimo, que fazem de sua vida, por ação do Espírito Santo, um dom de Deus para todos, conscientes de sua filiação divina. Em toda parte, do Oriente ao Ocidente, há quem não suporte o NOME de Jesus, há quem não se sinta bem com a VERDADE do Pai. Por isso planejam e até executam a eliminação da fé cristã. Por outro lado, existe um grande diferencial em quem se faz discípulo: é possuidor da LÓGICA QUE DESAFIA O MUNDO, a lógica do fazer-se dom, serviço, estrada de libertação e salvação para outro. O discípulo é conhecedor da VERDADE do Pai e, por ela, uma vez feito filho, não teme chamar também a Deus de Pai.
