The Christian community, by opening itself to receive the seed of the Word of God, inscribing it in its mind and heart, becomes a living temple where love and forgiveness are experienced. Let us celebrate the Eucharist with faith and joy.

First Reading: Hebrews 10:11-18

A reading from the letter to the Hebrews – 11Every priest stands daily for worship, offering often the same sacrifices, which cannot take away sins. 12But Christ, after offering one sacrifice for sins, sat down forever at the right hand of God. 13He can only wait until his enemies are made his footstool. 14For by this one offering he has perfected those whom he sanctifies. 15This is what the Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying, 16“This is the covenant I will make with them after those days,” the Lord declares: “I will put my laws in their hearts and write them on their minds, 17and their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18For where there is forgiveness, there is no offering for sin. – The word of the Lord.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark – At that time, 1Jesus began to teach again by the Sea of ​​Galilee. A large crowd gathered around him, so that he got into a boat and sat down, while the crowd stood on the shore. 2Jesus taught them many things in parables. And in his teaching he said to them: 3“Listen! A sower went out to sow. 4As he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. 5Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up immediately, because the soil was not deep. 6But when the sun came up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7Other seed fell among thorns; the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8Other seed fell on good soil and yielded fruit that grew and increased, and yielded thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold.” 9And Jesus said to them, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.” 10When he was alone, those who were with him, along with the Twelve, asked him about the parables. 11Jesus said to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God; to those who are outside, everything happens in parables, 12so that they may look but not see, and hear but not understand, so that they may not be converted and be forgiven.”

13And he said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the other parables? 14The sower sows the word. 15Those along the path are the ones where the word is sown; as soon as they hear, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16In the same way, those who were sown on rocky ground are the ones who hear the word and immediately receive it with joy, 17but they have no root in themselves, and they are unstable; when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away. 18Others are sown among thorns: these are those who hear the word, 19but when the cares of the world, the deceitfulness of wealth and all other desires come in, they choke the word, and it produces no fruit. 20Finally, those sown on good ground are those who hear the word, receive it and bear fruit; some yield thirtyfold, some sixtyfold, some a hundredfold.” – Word of salvation.

Reflection:

The seed sown on the ground germinates. Its development, however, is conditioned by the type of soil in which it is sown. In other words, the effectiveness of Christ lies in his sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins, but the development of the fruits of this salvific action in us depends on the conditions with which we welcome the seeds of the Word. Today’s Gospel invites us to reflect on the way in which we welcome the Word of God – superficially, disinterestedly, with conditions or attentively… – being certain that Christ wants to form himself in us. The particularity of this part of the Gospel is that Jesus himself explains the parable to his disciples, making the teaching process much more effective.

A comunidade cristã, ao abrir-se para acolher a semente da Palavra de Deus, inscrevendo-a na mente e no coração, torna-se templo vivo onde se vive o amor e o perdão. Celebremos a Eucaristia com fé e alegria.

Primeira Leitura: Hebreus 10,11-18

Leitura da carta aos Hebreus – 11Todo sacerdote se apresenta diariamente para celebrar o culto, oferecendo muitas vezes os mesmos sacrifícios, incapazes de apagar os pecados. 12Cristo, ao contrário, depois de ter oferecido um sacrifício único pelos pecados, sentou-se para sempre à direita de Deus. 13Não lhe resta mais senão esperar até que seus inimigos sejam postos debaixo de seus pés. 14De fato, com essa única oferenda, levou à perfeição definitiva os que ele santifica. 15É isso que também nos atesta o Espírito Santo, porque, depois de ter dito: 16”Eis a aliança que farei com eles depois daqueles dias”, o Senhor declara: “Pondo as minhas leis nos seus corações e inscrevendo-as na sua mente, 17não me lembrarei mais dos seus pecados nem das suas iniquidades”. 18Ora, onde existe o perdão, já não se faz oferenda pelo pecado. – Palavra do Senhor.

Evangelho: Marcos 4,1-20

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos – Naquele tempo, 1Jesus começou a ensinar de novo às margens do mar da Galileia. Uma multidão muito grande se reuniu em volta dele, de modo que Jesus entrou numa barca e se sentou, enquanto a multidão permanecia junto às margens, na praia. 2Jesus ensinava-lhes muitas coisas em parábolas. E, em seu ensinamento, dizia-lhes: 3“Escutai! O semeador saiu a semear. 4Enquanto semeava, uma parte da semente caiu à beira do caminho; vieram os pássaros e a comeram. 5Outra parte caiu em terreno pedregoso, onde não havia muita terra; brotou logo, porque a terra não era profunda, 6mas, quando saiu o sol, ela foi queimada; e, como não tinha raiz, secou. 7Outra parte caiu no meio dos espinhos; os espinhos cresceram, a sufocaram, e ela não deu fruto. 8Outra parte caiu em terra boa e deu fruto, que foi crescendo e aumentando, chegando a render trinta, sessenta e até cem por um”. 9E Jesus dizia: “Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça”. 10Quando ficou sozinho, os que estavam com ele, junto com os Doze, perguntaram sobre as parábolas. 11Jesus lhes disse: “A vós foi dado o mistério do Reino de Deus; para os que estão fora, tudo acontece em parábolas, 12para que olhem, mas não enxerguem, escutem, mas não compreendam, para que não se convertam e não sejam perdoados”.

13E lhes disse: “Vós não compreendeis esta parábola? Então, como compreendereis todas as outras parábolas? 14O semeador semeia a Palavra. 15Os que estão à beira do caminho são aqueles nos quais a Palavra foi semeada; logo que a escutam, chega satanás e tira a Palavra que neles foi semeada. 16Do mesmo modo, os que receberam a semente em terreno pedregoso são aqueles que ouvem a Palavra e logo a recebem com alegria, 17mas não têm raiz em si mesmos, são inconstantes; quando chega uma tribulação ou perseguição por causa da Palavra, logo desistem. 18Outros recebem a semente entre os espinhos: são aqueles que ouvem a Palavra, 19mas, quando surgem as preocupações do mundo, a ilusão da riqueza e todos os outros desejos, sufocam a Palavra e ela não produz fruto. 20Por fim, aqueles que recebem a semente em terreno bom são os que ouvem a Palavra, a recebem e dão fruto; um dá trinta, outro sessenta e outro cem por um”. – Palavra da salvação.

Reflexão:

A semente lançada à terra germina. O seu desenvolvimento, porém, está condicionado ao tipo de terreno no qual é lançada. Ou seja, a eficácia de Cristo está no seu sacrifício pela remissão dos nossos pecados, mas o desenvolvimento dos frutos dessa ação salvífica em nós depende das condições com que acolhemos as sementes do Verbo. O Evangelho de hoje nos convida a refletir sobre a forma como acolhemos a Palavra de Deus – superficialmente, desinteressadamente, com condicionalismos ou atentamente… -, tendo a certeza de que Cristo deseja se formar em nós. A particularidade desta parte do Evangelho é que o próprio Jesus explica a parábola aos seus discípulos, tornando o processo didático muito mais eficaz.
