They did not seek Jesus to be formed with Him, to become teachers, but they were chosen, called to a new life, permanently in the condition of disciples, to form the FOUNDATION and CORE of the New and Eternal Covenant. If in the Old Testament there were twelve tribes that constituted the people of God, now, on Jesus' initiative, to establish the messianic community of the New Covenant, twelve men were established, sinners, imperfect, but formed by Jesus and guided by the Holy Spirit, in order to be the foundation of the New People of God.

Both were sinners, flawed, traitors, but completely different in the way they experienced life with Christ. Judas certainly never left his own dreams, he lived with Christ, but without converting, without changing his messianic-Jewish mentality. Peter also dreamed of the same messianic form, but even after betraying the Master, after a terrible desert in his soul, he knew how to review his concepts, his logic and, then, surrendering himself to the logic of Jesus, he was truly converted.

No fundo, eles, como todo o povo, já se admiravam DELE, estavam encantados com a forma dos seus ensinamentos, com sua atitude perante os sofredores, com sua dedicação libertadora, atenciosa e solidária jamais vistas em Israel. Eles não procuraram Jesus para se formarem com Ele, a fim de se tornarem mestres, mas foram escolhidos, chamados a uma vida nova, permanentemente na condição de discípulos, para formarem o FUNDAMENTO e NÚCLEO da Nova e Eterna Aliança. Se no A. T havia as doze tribos constituintes do povo de Deus, agora, por iniciativa de Jesus, para fundamentar a comunidade messiânica da Nova Aliança, estabelecem-se doze homens, pecadores, imperfeitos, mas formados por Jesus e guiados pelo Espírito Santo, a fim de serem alicerce do Novo Povo de Deus.

 

3. A lista dos Apóstolos apresentada por Mc coloca Pedro no início e Judas Iscariotes no final, em total oposição. Ambos pecadores, falhos, traidores, mas completamente diferentes na forma de experimentarem a vida com Cristo. Judas, certamente, nunca saiu dos seus próprios sonhos, viveu com Cristo, mas sem se converter, sem mudar sua mentalidade messiânico-judaica. Pedro também sonhava com a mesma forma messiânica, mas, mesmo traindo o Mestre, depois de um deserto terrível em sua alma, soube rever seus conceitos, sua lógica e, em seguida, entregar-se à lógica de Jesus, converteu-se verdadeiramente.

 

4. Jesus escolhe homens imperfeitos, galileus, exceção a Judas (Judeia), homens marcados pelo seu tempo, pelos sofrimentos pessoais e pela dor do povo, que grita por liberdade e salvação.
